Why Use a Physical Journal Instead of an App
Share
In an increasingly digital world, you may be wondering why Soul Tara has a physical journal. We've had multiple requests for a digital journal, but to date we have refused because we really believe in the power of having a physical journal and putting pen to paper. Here are some of the reasons why we don't have a digital-only product (note: we do have digital bonuses and monthly virtual journaling parties for added extras, but our main focus is physical journals).
The Act of Writing
Our brain processes differently when we write versus when we type. There is something about the physical process of writing that stimulates the brain in a way that an app or digital experience can't compare. In energy healing, there is something powerful about taking physical action and writing down what you want. That is why there is many different methods of manifestation that prescribe writing down your goals on paper.
A Ritual
All of us are busy and spending many hours in front of screens. Digital overwhelm is real and we need a respite, a way to anchor ourselves to the present moment and our physical reality. A physical journal gives you the opportunity to disconnect from screens and turn journaling into a ritual whether you light a candle at home or fill out your journal in nature. Our Cosmic Starlight guided journal has premium paper, a vegan leather cover, and silver gilded edges to make every journaling session feel luxurious.
Friction is a Feature, Not a Bug
We all spend a lot of times on our phones and it's our most intimate device. So why then would we at Soul Tara create a product that is separate from your phone? One that you could use seamlessly? The truth is a little bit of friction can be good. We spend a lot of time on our phones, but much of that time is spent scrolling and getting quick dopamine hits. Journaling is about deep introspection, not instant satisfaction. Moving away from your phone shifts you into a different gear. And the truth is that while apps provide a lot of convenience, they don't always provide long-term consistent results. Despite many different wellness apps on the market, stress continues to be in America with large percentages of employees reporting burnout, physical symptoms from stress, and disconnection. Getting off your phone may just make your wellness journey a little easier.
